What are the benefits of the Silence electric scooter?
What are the benefits of the Silence electric scooter?
From a business use perspective, investing in Silence electric scooters for your urban transportation and delivery requirements has a number of benefits. It will lead to improved business performance and service delivery, cost savings and enhanced financial achievement, reduced impact during day-to-day delivery activities and, just as important, becoming part of the global initiative to ensure environmental sustainability.
Silence scooters are quiet during operation, ergonomically designed and comfortable, non-polluting, and nearly maintenance free. They accelerate faster than a 125 cc combustion engine scooter, but without the noise, emissions or vibration that go with the latter. They offer a stable ride and savings of up to 85% on fuel costs, compared to a combustion engine scooter.
How will load shedding affect the use of my Silent electric scooter?
As with all other operations and activities that rely on the availability of electricity, charging of your Silence scooter battery must be planned according to national load shedding frequencies. However, a fully-charged battery should be sufficient to keep your Silence electric scooter on the road for the average duration of a load shedding slot, depending on the distance to be travelled.
If necessary and to overcome the battery’s recharging time of 3,5 – 4 hours, consider to invest in an extra battery per scooter if your business operation relies heavily on the availability of the transport.
What type of driver’s licence do I need for a Silence S01 and SO2 electric scooter?
Silence’s SO2 and SO1 scooters are positioned in the 125 cc motorcycle classification, and can be operated with a Code A motorcycle license (motorcycles with an engine capacity of 125 cc or bigger).
How much can I save with a Silence electric scooter?
The Silence electric scooter only runs on electricity. For each 100 km travelled, the scooter uses around 5,84 kW of electricity. At an average price of R2,40 per kWh, it will cost R14,00 per 100 km travelled. A combustion-engine scooter with the same characteristics, on the other hand, uses 4 litres of fuel per 100 km. At an average price of R22,23 per litre, it will cost R88,92 per 100 km travelled. Using an electric scooter in this scenario means a saving of R74,92.
But this is not where it ends. Users can expect vast savings on maintenance costs and time lost due to service and repair downtime, as the Silence electric scooter requires a minimum of maintenance. The only larger expenses to take into consideration would be for tyre and brake pad replacement at intervals.
What is the travel range of the Silence electric scooter?
Users of the SO2 and SO1 models can expect a range of 100-128 km with a fully-charged battery. This depends on the selected driving mode and external factors such as the weight the scooter carries and the weather conditions.
How long does it take to charge a battery?
In general, a full charge from 0-100% takes approximately 3,5-4 hours. However, it is best not to drain the battery completely and to charge as you go along to prevent running out of power. Doing so means faster charges and extended battery life. The battery must be fully charged at least once a month or the warranty will be voided.
